Holiday road to rises to eight

Australia's Easter holiday road toll stands at eight .. after two single-car accidents
in Victoria early today.

A 17-year-old passenger was killed when the car she was in hit a street light and then
a tree .. on Princes Highway near Traralgon about 1.30 am (AEST).

And 30 minutes later .. a driver died in Victoria's south-west coastal township of
Princetown .. when a vehicle hit a fence and burst into flames.

There have also been two road deaths in New South Wales and South Australia .. and
one each in Queensland and Western Australia.

Tasmania .. The Northern Territory and the ACT remain fatality-free.
