NT: Independent Scrymgour to rejoin NT Labor - Henderson
Northern Territory Chief Minister PAUL HENDERSON has taken steps to ensure Labor can
retain its tenuous grip on power .. announcing that independent MARION SCRYMGOUR will
rejoin the party.
Former indigenous affairs minister ALISON ANDERSON quit cabinet and the Labor party
today .. plunging the government into turmoil.
Her resignation meant Labor only had 11 of the 25 seats in parliament .. the same as
the opposition Country Liberals .. but Ms SCRYMGOUR's return gives Labor a majority again.
Mr HENDERSON says Territorians went to the polls 12 months ago and elected a Labor
government and he's determined to see out a full term as the party's leader.
