Hughes not surprised at city's takeover

Accusing the Community Development Commission (CDC) of being a "rubber stamp" for the mayor, A. Philip Randolph Museum Founder/Director Lyn Hughes said she's not surprised that the CDC voted for the city to take over her organization.

"I think it was decided before they began because the documentation we provided them should substantiate the city's comments that her group did not respond," she said.

"The decision was made to give the city the authority before they (the CDC) went there because if they had looked at the documentation, they wouldn't have given the city the right of imminent domain.
