NSW: McEnallay family says thanks for Blue Ribbon Day

The family of murdered Sydney policeman GLENN MCENALLAY has thanked everyone who supportedBlue Ribbon Day in honour of the highway patrol officer.

The New South Wales government declared the special commemoration to pay tribute tothe senior constable who died on Wednesday.

He lost his battle for life a week after he was shot in the head and chest while onduty in Sydney's east.

His father BOB MCENALLAY has offered his thanks on behalf of his family and GLENN'sfiancee, AMANDA.

He says the family has been overwhelmed by the concept of Blue Ribbon Day, particularlyas many who took part had never even met GLENN.

Mr MCENALLAY has paid special tribute to their police family, saying they could nothave got through the ordeal without them.

Four men yesterday faced Sydney's Central Local Court charged with murdering Snr Const MCENALLAY.
